SmoothMove®   By iMoveTM.

Matt Koons, our man on the edge, takes SmoothMove for a spin and blows everyone out of their chairs.  The cover image for ARCHIdigm's 4th Quarter, 1999, Publication shows what a panoramic image looks like when displayed in a flat format.  Though this product is not revolutionary in its functionality, take QuickTime VR for example, it is a bit more impressive in its ability to compress images and produce startling clarity. The live video samples that come with this program will have any architectural minded individual dreaming of wearing a 3D camera on their head as they visit job sites.

To check out this amazing tool, visit iMove's website and download their free plug-in, install it and then come back to pick on the image above. It's well worth the minimum trouble. Once this panoramic image loads into a new window, wait for the full image and then hold your pick button down to pan all around within the space.   Use the Ctrl + left-pick button to Zoom in or Out.

The panoramic images can have hyperlinks imbedded into them so that visitors can move from one panorama to another or to other web information (such as spreadsheets).  Animations can also be imbedded within these panoramas so that visitors can activate television sets, movie screens or other dynamic forms of information.
