IMPERIAL UNITS - RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL OBJECTS
|1Greetings||.1-1 COLUMNS 21 eParts OVERVIEW|
Thank you for your interest in the COLUMNS 21.0 eParts by ARCHIdigm. Before you decide to purchase this product we would like to inform you about what you get and how it works so you don't end up buying something you don't want.
This kit is not a software product and it does not do anything on its own.. It is a library of Object Styles and MvBlocks designed exclusively for Autodesk®'s AutoCAD Architecture 2017 and up CAD program. Autodesk's Structural products come with their own libraries and tools for Structural work and this is not a substitute for those software products. The Objects in this kit are exclusively for Architects and Designers using AutoCAD Architecture only. Another way of saying this is that the content offered in this kit is for design not engineering.
This product was designed to update, improve and expand upon the stock Structural Member content that comes with AutoCAD Architecture. The Structural Member Styles in this kit exemplify the use of Adding Custom Blocks, Multiple Components, Offsets, Rotation, Member Shape Definitions, Display Properties and Property Set data. This kit also provides numerous examples of implementing Curtain Wall Styles as column, beams, floor trusses and more.
|2Product Features||2-1 COLUMNS 21 eParts OVERVIEW|
This product has been designed to work entirely within AutoCAD Architecture's Content Browser. Each product comes as a Catalog within which you will find Tool Palettes and Tool Catalogs organizing the various components found within the product.
For Columns 21.0 eParts, you will find the following Tool Palettes: Columns - Classic, Columns - Basic Shapes, Columns - Structural and Columns - Tools.
Columns - Classic: Doric, Ionic and Corinthian Orders in Round, Half-round and Half-Square shapes all in 24 and 12 inch sizes. User Guide provides instructions for creating custom sizes. All are true Structural Member Styles with Blocks for Capitals and Bases. All Blocks are Mass Elements. AutoCAD Solid Models have been included.
Columns - Basic Shapes: Offers numerous examples of multi-component column styles to be used as templates for your own needs. Examples include, shape control such as square-to-round-to-square, tapering, vessels, custom Member Profiles, Scale, Offset, Priority, Rotation and more.
Columns - Structural: Provides an overview of how to solve custom column needs for problems like Moment Frames, Rigid Frames and Stage Trusses. The User Guide explains how to configure a Structural Member Style for use along a Polyline Path based on the included example. Learn how to create columns with footings, Adding and Subtracting Blocks of 3D Masses, Repeating Blocks and more. Learn how to use Curtain Wall Styles for repetitive rows of columns and/or beams.
Columns - Tools: Provides a collection of Structural Member related commands scattered throughout AutoCAD Architecture that every user of Structural Members should know about. Also included are examples of customized Grid Bubbles and Tags. User Guide includes an extensive explanation of how to creat customized Beam and Column Schedule Table Tags.
As with all of our products, this one comes with a User Guide. The User Guide for the Columns eParts Product may prove to be equally valuable to the contents of this kit since it explains how the numerous Member Styles were created (and how you can modify them). This information reveals all of the deeper features of AutoCAD Architecture's Structural Member Styles such as Additive and Subtractive Blocks.
You will learn about Repeating Blocks and how to apply them to create trusses. You will also see examples of how using Curtain Wall Style may provide better results for truss styles.
Learn how to create a Rigid Frame Member Style and how to use it with Polylines. Learn how to create End Plates and Web Stiffeners without using Blocks.
The User Guide comes in .html and PDF formats.

and IT Managers:
Some offices have highly customized template files with unique Display Representations, Sets and Configurations that may not work with our kit. We designed this kit for optimum performance using the default template files that come with ACA but all that means is that we utilized the High, Medium, Low and Presentation Display Configurations.
The Object Style files are devoid of undesirable Layers, Colors and Plot Styles.
